About this blog.....

"May you have the gladness of Christmas which is hope;
The spirit of Christmas which is peace;
The heart of Christmas which is love."
~Ada V. Hendricks

Welcome to this little blog. I hope you have stopped because, like me, you are saddened by the lack of true Christmas Spirit in the world today. The purpose of this blog is not to force any set of beliefs onto others but to try to revive the beauty and warmth of the season by embracing all the beliefs of the season.

Personally, I was raised Catholic and, to me, Christmas and Easter are the two Holiest times of the year. I have worked with and been close friends to people of the Jewish faith and I embrace their beliefs and traditions. I have had friends who believe in religions or personal philosophies that I don't particularly understand or would adopt, however, it is the character of the person, not the most personal of beliefs that they hold that matters to me. It is the fabric of their beliefs that make these men and women who they are, to try to thrust upon them my beliefs would demean them.

So this blog is an effort to embrace others as well as ourselves. To allow ourselves the right to say "Merry Christmas" to those we meet during this most magnanimous of seasons and to accept the greeting of "Happy Hanukkah" graciously and with as much verve as we would accept our own. It is with grace that we get closer to God and closer to the true meaning of the season. It is with tolerance that we can embrace others and their differing beliefs. It is with tolerance that we embrace men of good character based on the fabric of their souls instead of the beliefs that they hold. It is how Jesus would have accepted people, with kindness and a gentle heart.
